PE & Sports Premium

At Stanburn, we aim to create a learning environment where every child is physically confident and able to enjoy physical activity. Government funding has been allocated towards developing our outdoor areas and enriching the sports provision offered at school.

Our plans include:

  • Working alongside Harrow's PE Advisor to support our PE Subject Leader, focusing on the development of teachers’ knowledge and skills across the PE curriculum
  • Purchasing new updated PE schemes of work and resources to provide consistency with the teaching of the PE curriculum across the whole school
  • Use of audits to inform our PE action plan, identifying ongoing  staff and pupil need
  • Implementing and developing programmes such as Change 4 Life and Sports Leaders to target all levels of physical ability
  • Continuous Professional Development for teaching staff
  • Improving our lunchtime and after school provision of extra-curricular activity
  • Ongoing training for midday supervisors  enabling them to lead structured activities at lunchtimes, increasing participation in sports and activities
  • Supplementing Sports and PE equipment for the school that will aid delivery of lessons
  • Membership of a professional PE body to ensure up-to-date information and resources regarding physical education.

The impact of this funding will be measured through:

  • The use of questionnaires and audits
  • The use of our School Council to gather the views of pupils
  • Observation and evaluation of the teaching of PE lessons
  • The analysis of registers of sporting clubs, to identify increased involvement
  • The analysis and impact of Change for Life clubs for identified pupils
