A Note from the Headteacher 12th February 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we reach the end of a Spring half term like no other, we need to celebrate all the achievements and amazing work that has taken place. I think we should all congratulate ourselves on what we have achieved together as a school community. Over the past 6 weeks Stanburn has continued to thrive and develop, despite most of us working remotely and sometimes in difficult circumstances. Thank you for all that you have done to support your children’s learning from home. As you will see on the next page of the newsletter there is a detailed summary of expectations for remote learning. You may want to keep a copy of this to refer to after Half term!

Next week I do hope you will get some time to enjoy some well earnt “non- screen” time with your children. Please do take a look at some of the great suggestions and ideas on the attached.

We very much hope school will fully re-open in mid-March as currently suggested by the Government but we await further details and continue to plan for every eventuality!
I wanted to finish on an optimistic note with a quote from Sir Captain Tom Moore who, as you know, raised over £33 million for the NHS at the age of 99 years. In his words: “Tomorrow will be a good day...we will get through this and the sun will shine and the clouds will go away.”

We have a staff training day on Monday 22nd February and therefore re-open on Tuesday 23rd February for key worker and vulnerable pupils. Have a good Half Term break.

Best wishes,
Mrs C Lansdown
