All pupils must agree to the following rules before they may access the computing systems at Stanburn. The importance of these rules is reinforced regularly.
- We keep our usernames and passwords secret
- We don’t tell anybody our address or telephone number
- We click on Hector and tell a grown-up if we see something that makes us unhappy
- We only search the Internet with a grown-up
- We know that the school can check what we have been doing on the computer
- We send and open emails together
- We write polite and friendly messages to people we know
- We stop and think before we click
- We decide what is fact, fiction or opinion
- We are careful when talking to online ‘friends’
- We understand why we should not send personal information, including photographs of ourselves or our friends
- We always ask before opening or downloading files
- We know that we can talk to a grown-up in school if we are worried about something
