A Note from the Headteacher - 17th December 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am pleased to say that we have had a fun packed final week at Stanburn, the culmination of a very long busy and at times challenging term. Despite the difficulties, however, we do have much to celebrate as we head towards the holidays.

We have hosted some magnificent class concerts which were performed in accordance with our COVID risk assessment. These included the sparkling Reception Nativity plays, outdoor Music Concerts and recorded ensembles, as well as the fantastic Year 4 Christmas productions of “Christmas around the World”. The children worked so hard to learn their lines and the words to the songs. They all spoke with such confidence and sang beautifully, and they looked amazing, rising to the occasion to produce performances of superb quality.

Thank you to all the staff for putting together these fabulous shows, and to all the parents who came to support their children; it was lovely to see you and even more importantly it was a huge “well done” to all the children who performed so brilliantly.

We have even had a long-awaited visit from Ofsted last week! Two inspectors came to the school to carry out a section 8 inspection over two days.

It will be a while before the report is published, in the form of a letter, and we are able to share the outcomes and any recommended next steps; when it is published. You will, of course, be the first to see it. At this point all I can say is that we are pleased with the outcome. I am so proud to lead this school, work with such dedicated professionals, and spend my days watching our remarkable children as they flourish and learn. Thank you for all your messages of support over the last few days and for the overwhelmingly positive feedback that we received.

I wish you all a relaxing and enjoyable break over this festive period and hope that you have a very happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you all at the usual time on Wednesday morning, 5th January 2022!

Take good care of yourselves and families.

Best wishes,
Mrs C Lansdown
