A Note from the Headteacher 21st July 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of another school year which has been like no other, we have much to celebrate including how well we have all adapted and achieved despite the challenges of the pandemic.

We have continued to ensure that fun and exciting activities have taken place even with the restrictions which have had to be in place. These have included whole-school events like Sports Day, Race for Life and the PTA Summer Bazaar. In addition, themed weeks such as Big Pedal and Walk to School week, and year group events, including the Y4 Roman day and Y1 workshop “Magic Materials” have gone ahead as planned. Although we were sadly unable to invite audiences for the Year 6, Year 2 and Reception end-of-year productions, the children have had lots of fun performing and you can watch these recordings on dB Primary at your leisure.

We are also extremely proud of the progress the children have made in their academic work. Our end of year assessments (not statutory this year) show the children have continued to make excellent progress and achieve above national levels at both expected and greater depth in all subjects at the end of all key stages.

Also a very fond farewell to all of our Year 6 leavers. We wish them the very best for September when they start their new schools. For those parents who are also leaving this year, we wish you well for the future and thank you for being part of the Stanburn family.

On a personal note, this has been one of the most challenging but ultimately most successful years of my long career. This would not have been possible without the fantastic support of staff, governors, parents and especially, of course, the children, all of whom have contributed to Stanburn going from strength to strength even during the most difficult of times.

Thank you all; have a great summer holiday, and we look forward to seeing you again in September.

Best wishes,
Mrs C Lansdown
