Class Assemblies

Class assemblies have returned! Pupils and parents are all delighted to perform and watch class assemblies once again. These are all taking place in the downstairs hall, in order to maximise ventilation, and we ask that we limit numbers with one adult for each performing child, and that adults watching wear a face covering while inside the school building.

6Silver:

6Silver recently performed their class assembly, to parents in the downstairs hall. They enjoyed acting an imaginative play, which explored ways to manage Year 6 – it isn’t all Maths and English, and the pupils continue to enjoy a broad and balanced, rich and exciting curriculum! Some of the children have written about their assembly: “We are the Mr Ahmadis. The play introduced the SATs and how we, the Mr Ahmadis, can help the children of year 6 stop the villainous SATs. The children were sceptical and also very unhappy to know that all the fun activities may be held hostage until May. We then presented our class text, Toby Alone, which we all enjoy reading. The play was well structured and we were pleasantly surprised with how well we performed it and how well it went. Everyone showed emotions in their acting and made the scenes more realistic. The best part was everyone being able to see their parents in the audience. We couldn’t do this for a long time – it was a rare treat to put on a live performance, with parents attending, to occur.”

6Platinum:

On Wednesday 17th November, pupils in 6 Platinum welcomed their parents and carers into the KS1 Hall for their class assembly. The theme for the assembly was Poetry and Remembrance. 6 Platinum first shared some of their performance poetry with the parents, ensuring they spoke loudly and clearly varying the volume and tone of their voices. Then we shared some of our thoughtful Remembrance Day poems with the audience. Finally, we concluded our assembly with a beautiful performance of 'Peace is Flowing like a River'. We all really enjoyed being able to share our hard work this half term with our families.

1Ruby:

On Tuesday 16th November, 1 Ruby performed their class assembly to parents. It was the first time this group of children have performed to a live audience and despite some nerves, each and every child did a fantastic job. All of the adults in 1 Ruby were so proud of the children's loud, clear voices and especially their beautiful singing voices! We would like to say a big thank you to all of the parents for helping your children rehearse their lines at home and we look forward to performing for you again in the Spring Term!
