Parent Workshop - Managing Feelings and Behaviour

We were delighted to welcome Liz Eardley, from the Early Support team to Stanburn on Wednesday morning. She ran a workshop for parents all about Managing Feelings. Through a range of approaches, including presentation, discussion and sharing experiences, she shared some strategies for supporting our children with managing their feelings and emotions. Parents shared their experiences with one another, and ideas with one another as well, in a highly supportive environment.
Questions explored included:
What are some of the challenges?
What are some feelings that we have?
Why do we have feelings?
What messages do we give to our children about expressing our feelings?
Liz was able to talk through some of the challenging situations that can occur, and model some ways for dealing with these, and suggested activities to use at home to help develop emotional literacy with our young people.
Many thanks to Liz for your support in school, and well done to all those parents who attended this popular workshop. Copies of the handouts from the session can be found on our school website on: https://www.stanburn.harrow.sch.uk/our-school/safeguarding/mental-health-and-well-being/
