Visit to Belmont Synagogue

Year 2 enjoyed a very informative trip to Belmont Synagogue. The children sat beautifully and listened to the Rabbi as he spoke about the Jewish religion. The children pointed out and asked about various objects in the synagogue and learnt about the Hebrew language, the Torah Scrolls and Shabbat among many other things. The children were amazed when they saw how large the Torah Scrolls actually are! They enjoyed looking at the features of this modern Synagogue, including the impressive stained glass windows. The Rabbi was very impressed with the children's behaviour throughout and they were a credit to Stanburn, walking to and from the Synagogue very sensibly. A huge thank you to our parent helpers and Rabbi Levene for such an interesting morning.
