Oct Yr 6 Residential

Year 6 have been enjoying themselves on their residential trip.

Monday:

Once everyone had unpacked and had lunch, some of the children were in the pool for 'wet and whacky', while others tackled the high ropes.

Dinner was a delicious meal of BBQ chicken and rice, roasted tomato and pepper pasta or pasta Bolognese. The chocolate oreo cake was enjoyed by all!

In the evening, they enjoyed a 'Run Around Quiz', exploring the grounds. The children had to use speed, initiative and teamwork skills to become the victors.

Tuesday:

Children had a restful night and were up bright and early for a busy day of climbing activities and with Cluedo to come in the evening.

Many children faced their fears on the 'Leap of Faith' while others worked as a team to climb 'Jacobs Ladder'. In the afternoon, we took influence from Bear Grylls by building our own shelters and learning how to light a fire using flint. Finally, we had a night of problem-solving involving some impressive acting from our teachers and our very own French Policeman - PC Royer! We are looking forward to bed and the activities that tomorrow will bring.

Wednesday:

Another busy day for our Year 6!

We had a sweet start to the morning with a wonderful French-themed breakfast. It wasn't long before we were burning off that sugar by learning some all-new dance routines in Dance Mania! Other groups were getting muddy using the sensory trail. Using blindfolds, children had to use their other senses to complete the trail and help each other along the way!

In the afternoon, some groups had a go at archery and the children watched the professionals (Mrs Shah and Mrs Gallagher) demonstrate their skills. Others were back on the rope and conquering their fears by abseiling down the tower.

The highlight of the day was the much-anticipated Campfire. The children sang songs, told stories and some showed off their fantastic talents.
