We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils. We endeavour to provide  a safe and welcoming environment where  children are respected and valued. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow  our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice. This may involve liaising with outside agencies including social services and the police.

Our Safeguarding Rules are as follows:

-Be vigilant.
-Know the children you work with.
-Be familiar with the types and indicators of abuse.
-Never ignore concerns, signs or reports related to children’s wellbeing and safety.
-Do not delay your response.
-Always report your concerns or queries to the CPO.
-Always make a record of what happened- the incident or concern, the exact words of the child where possible and any immediate actions taken.
-Use the Record Of Concern Form to record information.
-Don’t delay it- record information as soon as possible.
-All cases where there is a concern about significant harm must be referred to Children’s Social Care via the Golden Number- (0208 901 2690).
-This will be done by the CPO or a senior member of staff.

Please also read our regular Safeguarding Bulletins for the latest advice and information on safeguarding issues and refer to our Online Safety page for further information on keeping children safe online.
